My father, Perry Chester, served in the 82nd from the first day of formation during WWll. He was in North Africa, jumped into Sicily, Salerno, made the amphibious landing at Anzio, jumped into Market Garden, made a glider landing into another campaign and was at the Bulge. At the end of the European Campaign he was assigned to a MP company and was a personal guard for General Gavin. If anyone has relatives who served in the 504, please contact me as I have many pictures of other men who served with my Dad.
